Floodace, LLC (Floodace) is a San Antonio based civil engineering firm that specializes in Water Resources Engineering, Asset Management and developing customized GIS web applications. Floodace is certified as a Small Minority Women Owned Business Enterprise, as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise, and as a Historically Underutilized Business. The company, originally incorporated in 2008, started operations in 2018 and serves clients all over Texas.
Floodace staff worked on numerous regional and local flood control projects all around Texas, which gives Floodace the knowledge of and experience with flooding problems across the State. We assist government agencies solve flooding problems in their community with smart solutions.
Focused on providing smart solutions to its clients’ needs, Floodace consults with municipalities on infrastructure asset management solutions, provides drainage reviews, and advises real estate investors and land developers with respect to floodplain risk related to potential land acquisitions.
We also assist municipalities plan and then budget their financial resources to update their community roads, sidewalks and other infrastructure needs. We help municipalities strategize an asset management plan that fits their budget when needs are huge and funding is limited.

Shiva Sandrana, PE, PH
Principal & Project Manager
Shiv Sandrana has over 18 years of water resource engineering experience in the private and public sectors working to help communities identify engineering-studies-based strategies for infrastructure improvements to lower the risks associated with flooding. Prior to Floodace, he served as the head of the Infrastructure Asset Management Division for the City of San Antonio and as a Program Hydrologist for Bexar County's $500M flood control program. He is an expert 1D/2D modeler and has also performed detailed hydrologic and hydraulic studies of several creeks within Bexar County, central and north Texas for infrastructure, land development and FEMA map modernization projects. '
Shiva holds a Masters in Civil Engineering (focus in water resources engineering) from Texas Tech University and a Masters in Business Administration from UTSA.
Vandana Desamsetty, B.Tech
President / Senior GIS Specialist
Mrs. Desamsetty brings 10+ years of GIS experience with her background as a computer science engineer. She brings python programming, .NET, JavaScript, HTML and expertise with large data management to water resources engineering and infrastructure projects. Vandana Desamsetty is the core GIS Specialist for developing customized GIS web applications, and StoryMaps. She has experience working on capital projects and infrastructure maintenance projects for public and private clients.
Vandana holds a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in India.
